May Concerts - 6th Grade Edition

Like most of you, I can't believe that we are already talking about the final concerts of the year, but it is that time.

There have been slight changes to the concert schedule, but it shouldn't affect too many people.

The 6th grade concerts will be:

3rd Period Band R- Tuesday, May 4th at 7:00 p.m. - Students should arrive by 6:00 p.m. This concert will be with the Thomas Jefferson and Meadowview 5th Grade Bands.

4th Period Band B- Wednesday, May 5th at 7:00 p.m. - Students should arrive by 6:00 p.m. This concert will be with the Charles Reed 5th Grade Band.

More information about these concerts will be given to your students within the next few weeks.

If anyone is interested in volunteering your time these nights with vest hand-out and return, your efforts will be greatly appriciated. Please let us know either through email or phone call.

IGSMA Organization Contest

IGSMA Organization Contest is for the 7th and 8th grade band students.

Concert Band R needs to arrive at Timber Ridge in uniform with their instrument at 7:00 a.m. and performs at 8:00 a.m.

Concert Band B needs to arrive at Timber Ridge in uniform with their instrument at 8:00 a.m. and performs at 9:00 a.m.

Symphonic Band needs to arrive at Timber Ridge in uniform with their instrument at 9:00 a.m. and performs at 10:00 a.m.

6th Grade Concert

The 6th Grade students will have a concert at Aux Sable Middle School at 7:00 p.m. this Thursday, March 11th. Students need to arrive by 6:00 p.m. Click here for more details.

Pre-Contest Concert Time Change

The Pre-Contest concert start time for the 7th and 8th grade band students has been changed. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. on March 3rd at Aux Sable Middle School in the gymnasium. Your students will be receiving more information about this concert soon.

Practice Records Go Home Today!

Parents,
Please check to make sure that the practice records make it home today! Students are being asked to keep record of their practice at home. These records need to be initialed by you at the end of the week and will be checked every Monday (or the first day of the school week). This will be counted as part of the grade for band. 7th and 8th Grade Uniform Help

I apologize for the timing of this , but only being a teacher in the district, I only have so much power to complete anything to do with district funds, the budget or timing of anything to do with money. We have been approved to purchase 15 more uniforms to fit the growth of our bands this year. This may or may not be enough money, but we need to work with what we are given sometimes. In order to get this order completed, I am in desperate need of parent help during the school day this week. I need as many parents that I can get to help organize the current uniforms, and measure all of the 7th and 8th grade band students to see how many of which sizes we need to order to fit the current students in 7th and 8th grade. I know that we all have very busy lives, but we need to move very quickly on this in order to have them by our winter concert. Please email or call me as soon as possible if you can help. I will keep you updated soon on the state of our polo shirts, as soon as I get word on where we are moving with those. Thank you for all of your patience and support.

Auditions

All 7th and 8th grade band students will be auditioning this week on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. They are auditioning for placement in the upcoming concert band season. Students selected to be in the Symphonic Band will be working on advanced music and ensemble concepts. Let's wish all of our student good luck during this process.
